MOUNT EDEN'S NEEDS.
DRAINAGE AND ROADS. THE FORTHCOMING POLL. A poll of the Mount Eden ratepayers ig to be taken next Saturday on the proposal to borrow £135,000 for the provision of a sewerage system for the district, the improvement of the water supply, and the improvement of the streets and roads. The previous poll, taken on February 24, resulted in the rejection of the loan. On, that occasion the proposal to raise £10,000 for the purchase of land for a public park was included in the issues. This proposal has been eliminated from the schemes to be submitted at the forthcoming poll. The poll on Saturday will be taken between the hours of 9 a.m. and 7 p.m., at the following places:—Borough Council Office, Valley Road; Shale's shop, corner of Eden vale and Mount Eden Roads; Cantle's shop, tram terminus, Mount Eden Road; shop opposite Smeeton's corner of View and Dominion Roads; Druids' Lodge, corner of Valley and Dominion Roads; Stubb's shop, corner oj Balmoral and Dominion Roads.
