ALARM IN TURKEY.
IMPENDING catastrophe, DEARTH OF MUNITIONS. GERMANS FEAR MUTINY. jliniM and Sydney Sun Services. (Received April 4, 7-30 p-m.) London. April 3. The Times' correspondent at Sofia writes that travellers arriving at the Bulgarian port of Dedagatch describe public feeling in Constantinople as depressed. Little credence is given to Government statements regarding the impregnability of the Dardanelles. It is generally feared that's great catastrophe is impending which will seal the doom of the Turkish Empire. It is known that war munitions are running short. Hope has been abandoned of obtaining German supplies through Rouinania and Bulgaria. German officers, fearing a mutiny by night sleep aboard ships in the harbour. It is stated that the Turks are feverishly constructing forts at San Stefano, near Constantinople, for heavy guns. Thousands of troops are engaged in making ammunition.
