FRENCH GAIN ADVANTAGE IN MINE WARFARE.
ENEMY'S ATTACKS REPULSED IN ALSACE.
GERMAN AEROPLANE BROUGHT DOWN AT RHEIMS.
Wellington, April 4,
The Premier has received the following cablegram from the High Commissioner in London, dated April 3: "Paris reports that in the region of the Somne, at La Boiselle and Dompierre, the mine warfare continues with marked advantage to the French. The total prisoners taken in the Bois de la Pretre on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday numbered 200, including six officers. " A German aeroplane was brought down at Rheims. The machine took fire on alighting, and two aviators were made prisoners." A later message from the High Commissioner states: ' Paris reports that in Upper Alsace two German attacks were repulsed.
