It is reported from Copenhagen that Germany has already advanced Turkey £40,000,000. Von der Goltz is endeavouring to ai range for the loan of an additional £25,000,000, otherwise Turkey will be threatened and may be compelled to make peace with her assailants on any terms. An English clergyman*' in Constantinople writes: "We are perfectly happy and comfortable. The authorities are courteous, but there is no telling what the day may brine forth."
