FAITH IN GOVERNMENT. CENSURE MOTION DEFEATED. Capetown, March 31. During the debate in the South African House of Parliament, on the motion of Mr. Hertzog, to the effect that the Government had exceeded its powers in the steps it took during the suppression of the rebellion, Mr. Merriman declared that the Government did not deserve censure, and he moved " The previous question," this being carried by 63 votes to 13. The motion was thus killed.
