The Auckland Automobile Association will r °ni hold , an - ? ffic L al run th ' 3 Easter. Mai" oca motorists, however, have left, or are leaving the city for holiday tours. and it 3 ' £ ewcom ,£' with Mrs - Wairakei. whL P t i y ' 'f ft 0D Thur3da y '"or Waixake.. where they have arranged to meet several touring parties returning from the south, It is expected that a number of motorists from Cambridge and other districts will also spend the holidays at Wairakei. Mr. Allsop and Mr J.eumeean both left on Thursday evening and propose to visit Te Aroha and the J.names, Should.the weather prove to be wet their cars will probably be slipped back to Auckland by boat from Thames. Or J hursday Messrs. J. C. Hardie and R r> bainis left for Te Whaiti, a place which' has become a favourite resort for motorists. Mr Gorman Wade also left on the same day in his car, and will accompany the Te Whaiti party. Mr. R. Laidiaw, jun., will leave to-day tor To Aroha. The position of the stopping-places for tramcars in several parts of the city 13 causing motorists a good deal of concern Comment has particularly been caused in regard to the tram-stop at the Grafton .Bridge. Previously, cars stopped before crossing the intersection, which is regarded as much safer, and it is predicted that if the altered system of crossing the intersection before stopping is persisted in an accident will inevitably happen, owing to the congestion resulting opposite the shelter-shed. Kecently, the Onchunga Borough Council has requested the Tramways Company to alter the stopping-places of tramcars at the Koyal Oak from the corner to opposite the beddon Memorial. The conditions at this spot have already engaged the attention of the Automobile Association, and as a result local bodies are moving to effect an improvement at this corner. The intersection 19 unique, owing to the fact that, six roads meet there, and it is contended that if tramcars stop opposite the monument considerable inconvenience and danger will be caused. It is hoped that the authorities will look carefully into the matter before carrying out the recommendation to alter the stopping-place.
