NOEtrHERN RACING CLUB. Th» Northern Racing Pigeon Club flew its nomination race from Tauraarunui in weather conditions which were unfavourable (or flying. The birds were liberated at 10.80 a.m. by the Btationmaster, who wired: — "Very dull; rain threatening." The winning bird arrived after a fly of 5h 19m. The times and velocities were recordod as follows :— Dunmore's b h 71, time Bh 19m, velocity 788 yds, 1; Edwards's b c 45, time 6h 22s 265, velocity 782 yds, 2; Hughes's % c No. 1, time 6h 29m 68a, velocity 781 yds, 3; CowBell's bo 106, time 6h 22m, 'velocity 777 yds, 4 The air-lino distance to winning loft was 142 miles 1638 yds. The returns were excellent. .
