NORTH AUCKLAND RAILWAY.
OMAN A SOUTHWARDS. The need for pushing ahead with the laying of the North Auckland Railway from Omana southwards was placed before the Minister for Public Works by Mr. J. G. Coates, M.P. for Kaipara, during a visit to Wellington this week. Having gone fully into the matter, tho Minister has now informed Mr. Coates that formation work will bo put in hand immediately. Great difficulty has been experienced in securing a good supply of metal handy to the route followed by the line, so that the work to be undertaken at present will be simply that of formation. Once a good metal supply has been secured the whole work will be carried out without delay.
