Harry Thompson, who appeared on a charge of drunkenness, and for a second breach of his prohibition order, was convicted and fined £2, in default seven days' imprisonment.

One industrial case was brought before the Court by the inspector of awards, Mr. J. Hollows, who proceeded again? - , Ernest Stephen Eaton. The latter was convicted of employing a assist ant for five hours, extended time, without paying the overtime of half as much again as the ordinary rate. In addition he was convicted of employing a shop assistant alter the hour of 6 p.m. on more than one working day of a specified week without previously obtaining the- written consent of the inspector. On the second charee he was fined 10s and ordered to pay 7s, cost.--, while <on the first charge he was ordered to pay 7s costs.

John Francis Green was ordered to pay 32s a week towards the maintenance of his wife and three children.

William Joseph Whyte and Edward William Roberts, charged with the theft of goods to the value of £3 from the lannch Petrel, were remanded until, February 10. v
