NEW ZEALAND'S WHEAT.
KAIAPOI TO SAIL.

Sydney, January 18. As a result of special efforts, Mr. Ashford, chairman of the New South Wales Wheat Board, states that he hopes the trouble in connection with the Kair.poi's wheat will be settled and the vessel released early-to-morrow. Everyone is anxious that the wishes of the New Zealand people shall be met. as it is understood that they want wheat very badly. The settlement was reached through a proposition made bv Mr. W. Hughes, Commonwealth Attorney-General, which the New South Wales Government accented.
WHEAT FOR TASMANIA-
SUPPLY FROM NEW SOUTH WALES.
Sydney, January 18.
The New South Wales Government has undertaken to supply 10,000 bushels of wheat per month for Tasmania where a severe shortage exists.
GENERAL HEAT WAVE.
ALL STATES AFFECTED.
Sydney, January 18.
The heat wave is affecting all the States. Saturday was the hottest day recorded since February 17 of last year.
