The Auckland City Defence Rifle Club competed on Saturday afternoon for trophies presented by Messrs. Hutch Bros., and by the club. Since the club opened its season no really favourable shooting weather has been experienced, and Saturday proved no exception- A dull light, together with a gusty right wind, prevailed- Strenuous efforts were made by the marksmen to overcome the elements, but few escaped the unerpected pockets of wind. Much interest was displayed in the- competition for the club trophy, which was won outright by A Patrick, while C- Lee won the B class trophy. The results are as follows: — A CLASS(CIub trophy Tl A.
