"THE COURT CARDS."

Under the promising title of "The Court Cards," a party of costume-comedy entertainers will make their initial bow at His Majesty's Theatre this evening. Among the newcomers, whose New Zealand toutis proving highly successful, will be found three artists who were with the original "Scarlet Troubadours." a band of merrymakers well known to Auckland audiences. These are Mr. Warwick, comedian. Miss Maud Fane, comedienne, and Mr. Mannering, tenor. The other members of the party are Mr. Grimstone, basso, Mr. Titchcner, eccentric comedian, Miss Maud, soprano. Miss Mitchell, violiniste, and Mr. Keats, pianist and baritone. "The Court Curds" will be seen in an old English scena. entitled "Powder and Patches," on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings. Their programmes will include many other attractive items. It is confidently anticipated by the visitors that they will be greeted by a full house to-night. Mr. Smith, apart from his success cn the Australian musical comedy stage, has been a most successful comedian in England. Another new attraction will be Eddy Marty 11,, an American character comedienne. A further American attraction will be Mr. Carleton Chase, who will be assisted by Mr. Gene, Hawkes at the piano A cycling attraction will be provided by Dangar. while Clinton and Beatrice, the American rifle shots, will commence a sltarpsh noting competition to-night, in conjunction with their act. In connection with the latter a, great deal of interest has already been aroused Handsome prizes are being awarded by the management. The Driscoll Bros.—• patter comedians—John Earl, the Hatedian. and others, will support what promises to he a very fine vaudeville programme. PICTURE ENTERTAINMENTS. The King George Theatre was well patronised throughout Saturday, and the fine programme was much appreciated. To-day a new series of pictures will be screened. Throughout Saturday large audiences at the Princess and Queen's Theatres greeted the patriotic picture, "It's a Long, Long Way to Tipperarv." with great enthusiasm. At both theatres new programmes containing several excellent features aT<> promised to-day. A complete change of programme is to be screened at the Alhambra Theatre this evening, when an interesting and varied series of pictures will be presented. Both in the afternoon and evening, large aadiences assembled at the King's Theatre on Saturday and enjoyed the excellent programme provided. A new set of pictures will be screened this evening. At the Grand Theatre to-day the usual change of programme will be given. An interesting series of continuous pictures is promised. The programme of continuous pictures at the Globe Theatre to-day will include " The Romance of the Sa.wdust King," a story of circus life, showing a desperate fight with a lion. A new programme is to be screened at the Lvrio and est End Theatres this evening.
