TWO GERMAN SUBMARINES REPORTED SUNK.
DARING RECONNAISSANCES IN ENGLISH .CHANNEL.
PRESENCE BETRAYED BY BUBBLES. (Beceived November 15, 7.30 p.m.) London, November 14. It is stated in naval wireless circles at Dover that two German submarines, which were recently carrying out daring reconnaissances in the English Channel, have been destroyed; The first saved its power by remaining on the sea-bed for a lengthy period. Bubbles were noticed rising to the surface of the water on a calm day at the end of October. Dragging vessels hurriedly collected and dredged the area with powerful chains to which explosives were attached. A heavy explosion resulted, followed by the rise of a large quantity of oil to the surface. The second submarine had been, troublesome to .the warships operating around Nieuport. It was trapped into rising, in the belief that the stretch of sea above was deserted. Warships then returned, and shelled and sank her.
