The magnificent full pages of New Zealand scenery which appear in the Christmas Number of the Auckland Weekly News are the theme of general admiration.
Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., advise that the auxiliary scow Echo, a serviceable type of vessel, is to be sold at auction at Wellington on Thursday, December 3. The Echo was built at Auckland in 1906, and is constructed of particularly long lengths cf kauri timber. "Her dimensions are; Length, 104 ft Sin; breadth, 25ft sin; depth, 6ft lin ; t gross tonnage, 122 31; net tonnage, 99.18. The schooner :s rigged with square foresail, especially built for the carriage of long lengths of timber, capacity about 100,000 super, feet of kauri timber (one-third on dock) on a draught *of 6ft 6in, together with two 28-h.p oil engines, capable of driving the vessel about four knots. Oil i winch and heavy lift derrick.
