A further remand for a week was granted in the rases of Albert Watson, William Henry Ballard, and John Ballard, who were charged with having obtained elsewhere than in New Zealand the sum of £100 by means which would have amounted to theft if in New Zealand, and with bringing the same into New Zealand. Watson was also "narked with deserting from the s.s. Corinthic, the vessel (in which it was alleged that the £100 had bpen stolen.
Mrs. Ellen L. Finlay, who sold cigarettes at 9.15 p.m., when her tobacconist's shop, according to the law, should have been closed, was fined £2 and 7s costs.
