GALICIA BENEFITS UNDER RUSSIAN RULE.

RAILWAYS EXTENDED IN CONQUERED TERRITORY. GENERAL POSITION CREDIT TO INVADERS. Wellington, October 28. The following message has been received by the Prime Minister from the High Commissioner in London, dated October 25:—Professor Pariset, the authorised correspondent at the Russian headquarters, furnishes a report on observations in Austrian territory conquered by Russians. He states that Russia is extending a broad gauge railway into Galicia, and is also connecting the Austrian lines. Many Austrian wounded have expressed surprise at their treatment, and the satisfactory arrangements for dealing with all the wounded. The towns are quiet under the new rule. Only limited damage was done by artillery. The general position is a, credit to tho Russians, and gives ample proof of their close kinship with the great majority of the conquered population. The Russians in Poland are pursuing the enemy beyond the Vistula. Brilliant bayonet charges in forests of Radom, 50 miles south of Warsaw, resulted in the enemy's machine guns being captured, and prisoners taken. At Voeg, near Stry, 40 miles south of Leraberg, the enemy were dispersed and 1000 prisoners taken.
