Sir,—.V few years ago the Postal Department purchased an allotment in the i'Jiilson block, Wellesky Street, upon which it was hoped a suitable branch office, to meet the growing requirements of the vicinity, would be immediately erected. As that hope lias not so far materialised, would not the present be an opportune time to urge Government to put the structure in hand? The sito cost some £6000, and is lying unproductive, whilst the Department is paying rent for temporary premises in Elliot Street, which are totally inadequate for requirements. 'llio proposition, besides mooting a felt want, would assist, a little in mitigating the pressure of unemployment in the building trade, and would bo moreover economically sound. M.13.
