COLONIAL INSTITUTE.

«►. Interest in the activities of the Royal Colonial Institute hag been greatly stimulated in the Dominion by the visit of the secretary, Mr. James R. Boose, who returned to Auckland yesterday. He has spent three weeks in travelling through the Dominion, and lias visited the three Southern cities and the larger provincial towns. A. very large addition to the list of members in New Zealand has been one result of Mr. Boose's visit, but he stated last evening that equally satisfactory was the awakening of interest in the work of the institute. Local committees are being formed in each of the towns visited, and he is confident that his tour will produce a practical extension of the institute's influence. Arrangements will probably be made for another meeting in Auckland of those interested in the society before the departure of the secretary on Tuesday.
