FIFTY YEARS AGO.
ARRIVAL OF THE JUMNA. ONE HUNDRED IMMIGRANTS. (From the HERALD" of October 24, 1864.) The fine ship Jumna, Captain Garrick, anchored of! the North Head last evening, after a passage of 112 days from London. She sailed from Gravesend on July 4, taking her final departure from the Lizard on the Bth; passed outside the Cape de' Verd Islands, and experienced very light and baffling N.E. trades. Crossed the Equator on August 9, and the meridian of the Cape of Good Hope on September 11. She passed to the southward of Tasmania, and sighted the Three Kings on Friday last, at noon, since which time squally weather has been experienced. The Jumna brings 101 passengers, all in good health, there being only one birth and three deaths on the passage— children and one. adult, Mr. William Steel, who died of consumption on October 9, aged 34 years. The ship is consigned to Mr. Walter Graham, and has arrived in port in a clean and creditable condition.
