Myers, M.P., from Mr. Leo Myers, - | in London, intimated that about 5000 Bel- ; gian Jews were refugees in England, and,?l||Bj were destitute. Mr. Myers immediately f|j communicated with his compatriots | i-,5 throughout New Zealand with the object hS of raising money for the relief of these un- |3| fortunate victims of the German invasion. T - || Rabbi Goldstein and the Rev. S."Katz v were among those asked to assist, and through their efforts a sum of £235 was quickly raised. This amount, with £200 collected in Christchurch and sums contribnted in Wellington and other centres, Jgjjf will be forwarded to Mr. Leopold Roths- J child, the treasurer for tho fund in London. - r O.
