ROULERS LOST AND RETAKEN BY THE FRENCH.
IMPORTANT STRATEGIC SITUATION OF THE TOWN. CAPTURE A HANDICAP TO GERMAN MOBILITY. Paeis, October 22. French Dragoons from Ypres, after expelling the remnant of the Germans from Roulers, barricaded the streets and planted machine guns in the porches of prominent houses. On Monday a large force of Germans from Ghent and Bruges bombarded and retook the town after fierce street fighting. The French retired in good order and •were reinforced. On Tuesday after heavy fighting Roulers was once more retaken by the allies. The capture of Roulers, an important railway centre, is a heavy handicap to the enemy's despatch of troops to the front.
