Wellington', Wednesday. A petition by Isaac Ward and 300 ■ others, asking that the road near the ex-. plosives magazine at Maiaotai bo not closed, and that provision be made for completing the road for wheeled traffic, was reported upon to-day by the M toZ Petition Committee cf the House. The report stated that the committee bad no recommendation to make.

Mr. Davey (Christ church East) said that the commission which had inquired :nlo the question of the storage of explosives had recommended that tho road along thq foreshore near the magazine should 08 closed, and that another road further from the magazine should ha made. The petitioners in the present caso had petitioned against the closing of tb® road, but as no evidence was offered tee, committee was unable to make any recommendation. VV
