GERMANY'S GRIEVANCE.

WANTED A FREE HAND.

REPLY TO MANIFESTO.

THE ' BRITISH ARGUMENT.

Over 100 distinguished British scientists have issued a reply to the German professors' manifesto. The reply advise.! the Germans to obtain the full text of the diplomatic documents, from which they will learn that Germany was the one Power that did not strive for peace. " Germany's one grievance U that we did not allow her to subdue the European Powers, and thus enable her to deal with Britain."

The British scientists, in their reply, strongly condemn the destruction of Louvain, Uheims, and Malines.

The Admiralty is supplying the men of the navy with swimming collars which can be rapidly inflated.

The Judges in the Law Courts are permitting barristers to appear before them in uniform, instead of in wig and gown.
