MANGERE BRIDGE.
PROGRESS OF THE WORK. At the last meeting of the Mangere Road Hoard tho chairman, Mr. H. K. McKen.zie, reported that satisfactory progress was being made with the construction of *.ie new Mangere Bridge. He expected that the work would be completed well within contract time now that the Government had promised to facilitate the transfer of the land, through the Pailway Department, which forms the approach to the bridge at the Onenunga end. i The subject of forming new footpaths and the necessary kerbing arid channelling on the new approaches to the bridge was discussed at the meeting. It was decided to instruct the contractor tor the new bridge to form new concrete footpaths, 6tt wide, on each side of the approaches to bo in keeping with the footpaths on *ap new bridge, and also to do the necessary kerbing and channelling. When tiie work is completed pedestrians will have the privilege of walking on concrete footpaths from Queen Street, Onehunga, to the store at Mangere. 'there, will he two protecting rails on the outside of the footpaths, made of 2£in iron pipes, supported by concrete posts.
