GERMANS TO DEFEND PRZEMYSL TO THE UTTERMOST

FIGHT BEGUN BETWEEN RIVAL ARTILLERY FORCES.

AUSTRIAN SLAV GENERAL COURT-MARTI ALL.ED AND.SHOT.

Peteogead, September 21.

Three German army corps have been concentrated in a fortified position in the vicinity of Przemysl with orders to defend it to the uttermost to enable the German forces gathering at Posen to arrange for a general forward movement. A fight between the rival artillery forces has commenced at Przemysl.

It is officially stated that the Austrians endeavoured to arrest the Russian advance along the Baranoff-Rainshoff front, but were repulsed with great loss. The Russian siege guns bombarded Grostav.

During the battle of Lemberg the Austrian*, after hoisting the white flag, treacherously shot down General Frolve, hero of Port Arthur. The infuriated Russians sabred them unsparingly.

A telegram from Vienna, received at Rome, states that the Austrians court-martialled and shot General Vodinavski, of Slav origin, who was accused of spying, and also a Slav stationmastef at Lemberg. It is reported that General Frorfich, who was removed from the command of a cavalry division which was nearly annihilated, committed suicide.

Przemysl is a fortified town in Galicia on the River San. Posen is 102 miles east of Frankfurt, and a first-class German fortress.
