LENGTH OF THE SESSION.
NO SIGN OF THE END.
DATE OF THE ELECTION.
[bt telegraph— special correspondent]
Wellington, Thursday. On being questioned this evening regard ing the probable length of the session, Mr. Massey said that it was rather too early to ask that question. "There is no sign yet of the session coming to an end. We have got our work to do, and we intend to do it," he remarked.
Sir Joseph Ward is still laid up with an injured knee. Mr. Massey called on him to-day, and it has been decided to defer the conference regarding the date the general elections until Saturday next. The Government will proceed with its legislative programme, and the session is unlikely to finish before the midcle or end of October.
