TORPEDO FLOTILLA IN GALE
SAILORS LASHED TO RAILS.
Wellington, September 17.
The High Commissioner reports from London on September 17 that a superb exhibition of seamanship was given by the torpedo flotilla based upon Harwich during a gale of exceptional severity, which raged for two days. For 24 hours the hatches were battened down, while the sailors on deck duty stood at their posts lashed to the rails.
