Wellington, Thursday. The report of the A to L Petitions Committee on the petition „ Arthur Join, ioekery, who claimed .-..nipciMation for having been shot in Tarai.aki Street Wellington, during the strike riots on November 3 last, was cro,,,ht un in the House to-night. The committee 'referred the petition to the Government for favourable consideration.
-Mr. Payne said the evidence adduced before the committee must have convinced everybody that the special constables were armed and were firing at all and sundry Mr. Isitt moved that th t report be 'referred back to the Government f,-. r further consideration. He contended that the committee had been misled in arriving at its conclusion. °

Herdman, said that if it wa * dear to the Government that the petitioner had suffered injury he would get justice At the end of a lengthy debate the report was referred back to the committee for further consideration.
