TIME NOW GOME FOR ALLIES TO ATTACK.

BRITISH CONTINUE THE OFFENSIVE MOVEMENT. SORTIE FROM THE FORTRESS OF VERDUN. Bordeaux, Sept-ember 9. A message from Antwerp quotes a communique giving General Joffre's order informing the troops that the time had now come to attack and drive back the enemy. It is officially announced that the Germans have, in their retreating movement, crossed the Petit Morrin. With a view to protecting their lines of communication they made violent but unavailing attacks" against French troops occupying the right bank of the Ourcq. The British are continuing the offensive in the direction of the Marne on the plateau northward of Setigne. The allies' troops are progressing, though with difficulty. On the allies' centre a violent battle is in progress. On the right wing the situation is good before Nancy and the Vosgea. The troops in the fortress of Verdun made a sortie, and captured a number of supply convoys intended for the Fifth German Army. 1 Nearly two millions are engaged in the battle which is still raging between Meaux and Verdun. The news indicates that the allies are still pursuing the offensive. The Ourcq is a river in Northern France, which joins the Marne about thirty miles east of Paris. The Petit Morin also flows into the Marne about ten miles further on. GERMAN DIVISIONS ATTACK THE FRENCH LINE. KAISER WATCHES BATTLE FROM THE HILLS. Geneva, September 9.
