Ist TELEGRAPH.— ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Thursday. The Legislative Council met at 8 p.m. The Hawke's Bay Rivers Board Amendment Bill was read a first time. Leave was granted for the remainder of the session to the Hon. Sir Maurice O'Rorko. The Local Elections Proportional Representation Bill and the . Immigration Restriction Amendment Bill were read a socond time, and referred to the Statutes Revision Committee.

The Council went into Committee upon the Public Service Bill and Civil Service Officers' Guarantee Repeal Bill, and reported 'same without amendments. The Bills were read a third time and passed. Unimportant amendments were made to the Harbours Amendment Bill, and the Bill was read a third time and parsed. The Council rose at 10.45 p.m.
