FRENCH MOBILISATION PROCEEDING ON FRONTIER.
FAILURE OF SCHEME TO PIERCE COVERING TROOPS

Paris, August 13. The concentration of the French forces under the shelter of covering troops is proceeding with the regularity of clockwork. It is known that the intention of the German strategy was to . pierce the covering troops and seize Nancy, 10 miles beyond the frontier, by this action disarranging the French mobilisation. The scheme failed owing to the inability of the German right wing to carry it into, effect.
