BARQUE FROM SAMOA.
UNEXPECTED ARRIVAL.
An unexpected arrival at Auckland yesterday was the, Norwegian barque Cairnsmoro, the vessel being towed into port at noon. Tho Cairhsmorc came from Apia, Samoa, in ballast, and was on her way to Wostport, She is leaking slightly as a result of several rivets becoming loosened, and tho captain therefore decided to put into Auckland to have his vessel docked. Tho Cairnsmoro left Westport early in June last with a cargo of call for Samoa, and this is the first time she has been reported since. When she left Apia on July 22, war -had not been declared, and the crew were in ignorance of the position of.affairs until tho vessel was taken in tow by the Harbour Board's tug To Awhina yesterday morning. The officers reported that tho Cairnsmoro had followed tho ordinary course taken by vessols on the voyage from Samoa, but thoso on board saw no signs of any warships throughout tho passage, which occupied 22 days. While in port the Cairnsmoro will be docked for repairs and overhaul.
