STRIKE PRISONERS.
RELEASE RECOMMENDED.

. Wellington, Thursday. The petition, bearing 9279 signatures, praying for tho early release of tho men who are now serving sentence* of, imprisonment in connection with last year's strike, was reported upon to-day by the A to L Petitions Committee of the House of Representatives.
The chairman of the committee, Mr. J. H. Grachev (Auckland West), said that tho committee had unanimously agreed to a recommendation that the petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration.
