PROGRESS OF MAORI WAR. TERMINATION PREDICTED. (From the Herald of August 13, 1864.) .When we take into account the submission of the Tauranga natives, the defection from tho king cause of Wi Tako, and the miserable condition to which tho Waikatos must have been reduced, it is no very groat stretch of imagination to suppose that tho concentration of tho troope in Taranaki during the approaching campaign of tho next summer will bring tho war to a terminat on. by that time, too, tho necessary guarantee for the good faith of those submitting again to the Queen's authority will have been taken by tho introduction, ' by the Government, of a largo number of settlers into tho forfeited lands of tho rebels of either province.
