FLY RIVER EXPEDITION. \ By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright. Sidney, August 12. Sir Rupert Clarke has returned from his expedition up the Fly River, Papua, Ho has verified Sir William Mc- \ Gregor's charts. Sir Rupert was forced to abandon two boats, and continued a further 30 miles on foot to Mount Donaldson, where ho planted the Union Jack. He managed to a\oid any hostile relaOoiu with the natives, although trouble was threatened.
