MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
An action was heard in tTie Magistrate's Court yesterday, before Mr. C. C. Keltic, "S.M., in which William Muir Nisbet (Mr. N. A. Campbell) claimed £5 14s from H. T. Shepherd (Mr. N. H. Hanna), a Mount Eden builder, in respect of materials furnished and work done. Judgment was for plaintiff for £4 15s and costs. -Alfred William Webb, farmer, of Churchill (Mr. A. M. Gould) claimed from Muriel Knight Harrison and Herbert Francis (Mr. E. J. Prendcrgast) the sum of £65 13s. Defendants confessed judgment for the full amount, and counterclaimed for £165. It was stated that defendants were members of a nyndicato which bought plaintiffs farm and afterwards sold tho property. Plaintiff had managed tho farm for a period, and £100 was claimod in rer-poct of his alleged neglect'of the property. On the second cause of action, it was alleged that plaintiff had refused to give possession to a purchaser, an action which had cost defendants £65 in compensation. Judgment was for plaintiff with costs, the magistrate stating that Webb had acted fairly throughout the transactions.
