SHIPPING OF THE PORT.

During tho fortnight ended August 6, the arrivals in Auckland Harbour consisted of two British warships, two Royal mail steamers, two large cargo steamers, seven intercolonial or Island traders, eleven steamers from Southern ports, and one sailing vessel, an aggregate of 79,304 gross tons and 52,574 net tons, which, together with 241 local coasters of 39,642 gross tons and 21,396 not tons, made a grand total of 118,946 gross tons, and 74,150 net tons. The departures comprised two British warships, two Royal mail steamers, four large cargo steamers, seven intercolonial or Island traders, 10 steamers for Southern ports, and two sailing vessels, an aggregate of 95,980 gross tons and 59,102 net tons, which together with 242 local coasters of 39,391 gross tons and 23,117 net tons, made a grand total of 135,371 gross tons and 82,219 net tons.
