BUSINESS DONE YESTERDAY.

The sharemarket was quiet yesterday, though quotations maintained the firm tone at which they opened this week. A sale of South British Insurances was reported at 755. New Zealand Insurances were offered at £5 10s, and buyers quoted £5 fis. Business in Auckland Gas was effected at 24s 6d. In mining lines, Waihis changed hands at 30s 9d, 30s 6d, and 30s 3d. Talismans found sale at 27s 9d, and Waihi Grand Junctions were done at 21s 3d.
