GERMAN STEAMERS.
CARGO FOR NEW ZEALAND.
Tin. local agents for the German steamer Stokenfels, which was en route to Now Zealand ports from New York, when detained at Sydney, have received cable advice to the effect that tho vessel's cargo for Auckland, including case oil and benzine, is being forwarded on at the consignees' expense. Tho Stokenfels earned ovor 3000 tons of American merchandise for New Zealand. ' The transhipment oi her cargo moans additional cost in freights and additional war risks. •
•The German steamer Wildenfels is now due at Melbourne from Now York with cargo for New Zealand, and it is presumed that a similar course will be adopted with regard to the delivery of her cargo. Both the Stolzcnfels and Wildenfols are German-owned vessels, and are undei charter to the United States and Australasian Steamship Line.
