The Her. William E. Soutor, of the National Bible Society of Scotland, who is stationed at Chungking, West China, was welcomed by th& Auckland Presbytery last night.
The Rev. Angus Mac Donald, Presbyterian minister at Waipu, was granted permission by the Auckland Presbytery Inst night to volunteer as Presbyterian 'chaplain to the New Zealand expeditionary force. Reference was made to Mr. MacDonald's services as an army chaplain on previous occasions, and the presbytery decided to support his application in the present instance.
Mr. E. TrevoT Gould, youngest sen of Canon Gould, of Auckland, several his connection with the New Zealand Insurance Company at Melbourne on July 31 to take up the management of the Victorian branch of the Standard Fire and Marino Insurance Company of New Zealand. A presentation of a gold watch, suitably inscribed, was made to Mr. Gould bv the nanagcr for Victoria, Mr. A. 11. Price, who spoke in praise of the many excellent qualities of tho recipient.
