Sir William Goschen, British Ambassador to Berlin, has returned to London.
The Scottish coal-owners have suspended their demand for wages to bo reduced.
Many vessels are unable to use the Suez Canal, owing to tho demand for cash payments. The Foreign Office is arranging with the Bank of Egypt to overcome the difficulty.
The Germans at Lome, Togoland, did not resist the British Gold .Coast troops, but surrendered South 'Togoland to 85 miles from the coast.
The Archbishop of Canterbury has offered Lambeth Palace, and the Duke of Sutherland and many notables have offered , their country houses as hospitals to the Government.
Mr. Andrew Carnegie describes the Kaiser as the chief destroyer of Europe.
The sale of firearms has been prohibited in South Africa. German reservists have to report daily.
