PAPUAN EXPEDITION.
NO TRACE OF GOLD.

Brisbane, July 9. Sir Rupert Clarke's Papuan expedition has reported that, on May 28, they penetrated 500 miles up the Fly River. The natives were friendly, but shy. Game was plentiful. The prospectors., so far, have discovered no traces of gold.
