Paris, June 28. The Rajah Pubukkotai, who is visiting Europe for the first tune, is ambitious to gain notoriety. He is a passionate lover of horse racing and has vainly tried to buy tho favourites in two big races.
The rajah paid the owner of a starter in 1 the Grand Hurdle Race at Auteil £4000 for half of the stako in the event of victory. The horse won, the whole stake being worth £5600. The rajah's bets totalled £8000.
