.SUCCESSFUL SPORTS MINTING. Tuk montliiy meeting of the Oncknnga United Friendly Societies was hold in ho Hibernian Hall on Friday. All the societies were represented, and the president (Bio. VV. Martin) occupied the chair. Tho principal business of the evening was the consideration of the report and balancesheet iii connection with the sports gathering held in May. Tho balance-sheet showed' a credit balance of £16 Is Id. Much credit for this success was due to the .secretary (Bin, Campling) and the sports secretary (Bro. Martin), but the satisfactory financial position was held to Iw due to the very liberal donation by the bueinrm people of trophies and cash.
