OUT WITH THE HOUNDS.

PAKURANQA HUNT CLUB.

MEET AT PAPATOETOE.

The members of. the Palmranga Hunt Club attended a meet at the creamery, Papatoetoe, on Saturday. It being a fine winter day therg was a large body of followers out to enjoy a gallop across country. The jumping was much better than that of the previous Saturday, and although the fences were just as stiff at Papatoetoe, there were only five falls as against 25 the week before. The hounds were thrown off on Mr, J. Tritidcll's property, near Kelly's corner, and were not long in finding a fine hare, which soon put a- big gap between itself and the pack. Puss went over Mr. TrinrMl's back paddocks into Mr. H. Swarficld's property, and over a difficult fenco which brought two of the members to grief. ' The hare still kept the hounds busy, turning back into Trindell's property, where he was eventually lost. After a short respite the hounds were taken back to Mr. H. Gilliard's farm, where a hare was found. After another merry chase over several gorse hedges, the hare was again lost. Among those following the hounds were the deputy-master, Mr. H.
