The case of the Exhibition Amusements Company v. Frank Adeane, R. B. Long, ir/d Phillip Newbury, was mentioned in the; Supreme, Court before Mr. Justice Cooper yesterday, when Mr. W. J. Napier, who; appeared for the plaintiffs, announced that a settlement had beer reached. The case is to be mentioned again to-day.
The principal salesman in Auckland for ■he New Zealand Dairy Association/ Mr. 3. Curry, was fareweiled by the ~Auckand staff of the. association on Tuesday. ilr. Curry has been in the service of the association for 28 years, and is now retiring. Mr. Wesley Spragg, chairman of directors, presented Mr. Curry with a cheque from the directors, and w.Hh a wallet containing a substantial amount in-gold from the Auckland staff. ,; A slight coiilision occurred in the harbour shortly after six o'clock last evening, between the Northern Company's small steamer Hauiti and the local t collier Glena.lg. The Glenelg heeled over slightly with the force of tho impact, but as far a? could bo ascertained, sustained no damage, while the Hauiti also was very fortunate, ' as' she sustained practically no damage to her hull, about 2ft of /the wooden stem-piece being broken.
