The Huddart-Parkcr steamer Victoria left Dunedin yesterday afternoon for East Coast ports and Auckland. She is due hero on Sunday morning next. Tho Shaw, Savill, and Albion liner Corinthio is timed to leave Wellington' at 3 p.m. to-morrow for London, via way ports. . .The . Huddart-Parker liner r Riverina is timed to leave Sydney at noon to-day tor Auckland direct. , The Biverina is .due on Sunday morning, - The Commonwealth and Dominion liner Nerehaua is due at Wellington to-day from Lyttelton to complete Homeward loading. Tho vessel is to leave Wellington to-morrow or Friday for London. Mr. F. W. Collins, one of the Dartford cadota. has been promoted another stage in his profession. After acting as fourth officer on the Manuka for some months, be has been promoted to the position of third officer on the Komata. During the run up from Lyttelton to Wellington on Sunday, Mr. Edge, chief officer of the Taviuni, suffered a painful injury to one of his fingers. , Captain. W. D. Prior to taking the barque Lilla in tow, the Union Company's steamer Kaiapoi loaded a cargo of salt at Edithburg for Nsw Zealand ports, and then; proceeded to Adelaide to pick up the Lilla. and is now on her way to Wellington with the dismasted barque in tow. The vessel will not proceed on to Wellington as is usual, but her fruit cargo for Southern ports will be transhipped. Tho vessel was accordingly ordered on to Auckland. She should arrive here to-morrow morning, and will discharge about 2500 tons of produce, . The Wanakv sails on Saturday for Napitr. and after landing her original cargo there, will proceed to Oamaru, tho Bluff, and Tim&ru. •-':' HINEMOA RETURNS. ■ '. .; '"' The Government steamer Hinemoa returned to port at 1 p.m. yesterday from East Cape island,- where she succeeded in landing stores for the lightxeepers on Sunday morning. During her stay at the East Cape- the Hinemoa encountered a. heavy southerly gate, and tho landing was made under great difficulty. She landed stores at Ponui' Island lighthouse yesterday morning. ' The vessel will load a Quantity of stores while, in port, and sails on Friday morning on a. visit to Northern and West Coast lighthouses. She wu][also engage in. a trawling: expedition in Northern waters, and will male a call at the Three Kings en route.

THE MANUKAU BAR. ' _ After being detained inside 'the Manukau Bar all Monday night, the steamers Corinna Rarawa, and Claymore succeeded in crossing outwards early yesterday morning. • The Rarawa is due at New Plymouth this morning, and will leave on' the return trip this evening, arriving at Onehungu to-morrow morning, and sailing again at 3 p.m. for the Taranaki port.,- The Claymore is expected to arrive back at Onehunga from Kawhia and Raglan early to-morrow morning, and sails again at 10 a.m. for Waitara and Kawhia. The Corinna is to load a shipment of dairy t produce at % New Plymouth to-day for transhipment to the Ccrinthic at Wellington.

MIMIRO FROM LIVERPOOL. At 10 a.m. yesterday ! the Commonwealth and Dominion Line's steamer Mi'miro arrived in the stream at Auckland from Liverpool, via Las Palmas, after a passage of 52 days. The vessel was berthed at the Queen's Wharf at noon to discharge over 2000 tons of general merchandise. The Mimiro made a nonstop run from Las Palmas to Auckland, the voyage of 11,550 miles being accomplished in 45 days, at an overage speed of 10.8 knots. From Auckland the vessel goes to Wellington. . LOCH GARVE IN COLLISION. A collision .occurred early on the afternoon of; May 11 at Newcastle between the Italian ship Loch Garve and the German four-masted barque Jersbek. It will .bo remembered that the Loch Garve visited Auckland in November last with a. cargo of tiles from Marseilles, and after being in port for several weeks, proceeded to Wellington to complete her discharge. From Wellington the vessel proceeded to Newcastle, where she has been for several months past. At the time of the collision the Loon Garve was being berthed at No. 5 crane at the Dyke, and. the Jersbek was at t No. 6 crane. As a result of the impact, . the headgear of the Jersbek was considerably damagod, and the steering • gear and rails: near the stern of the Loch Garve also suffered considerably.
