WEATHER REPORT." The Metereological Department supplied the following weather- report at 4 p.m. yeaterday :— . „'•."'. •
High southerly winds have prevailed northward of Hokitika and Kaikoura. The anticyclone has passed in the South, but the storai nrea appears row to bo centred about 100 miles north-eastward of East Cape. The barometer, is again falling in tho North. Heavy rain and flooded rivers are reported from Hawke's Bay.
TO-DAY'S FORECAST. . Present indications are still threatening. Expect stormy .weather and rain generally. Heavy rain and rivers flooded in the North Island and north-eastern districts of the South Island, Much snow probable on the higher/levels. The barometer is falling everywhere, but is likely to rise fast after from J|i to 36 hours. Winds strong to gale generally, south-easterly ruling northward of Hokitika and Lyttelton. and easterly, changing to southerly, elsewhere.
