TOWN-PLANNING.

LECTURES ARRANGED FOR.

[BY TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, Thursday. , Representatives of the local committee which is arranging for the lectures on town-planning, to be given by Messrs. Davidge and Roid, of the English Townplanning Association, waited on the Hon. F. D. H. Bell and asked 1 for a £ for £ subsidy on the amount collected by the various centres.

Mr. Bell said the matter had already been before Cabinet, and he had already told Judge Neville, of the English Association, that the matter had the sympathy of the Government, which would assist, but he was not in a position to say to what extent. The Minister added that there were quite sufficient powers in the Land Act and the Public Works Act to enable town-planning to be carried out, and no additional legislation was required.
