BRITISH TEAM'S TOUR.
A meeting of the sub-committee appointed by the New Zealand Council to arrapge the New Zealand itinerary of the British Northern Union team was held last evening, Mr. D. W. McLeail presiding.
Word was received from the Wellington League that the proposed match between that centre and the visitors would have to be abandoned, owing to the high ground charges insisted on by the Wellington City Council.
The English team will arrive in Auckland on July 12, and will be in the Dominion for about three weejes, leaving again for Sydney on August 3. Every effort is being made by the New Zealand League to have the tour extended, as it is considered' tfoat an extra week would be of great advantage to both parties. The sub-committee decided on the following programme of six matches : — Arrive Auckland Sunday, July 12; play Canterbury Wednesday, July 15; tplay Hawke's Bay Saturday, July 18; play Taranaki Wednesday, July 22; play Auckland Saturday, July 25; play Wahganui Thursday, July 30; play New Zealand (at Auckland) Saturday, August 1.
